I was born and raised in Guadalajara,Mexico, when I was 7 years old I began to developed my artist skills by working with various arts and crafts at school, then when I was in 3rd grade I won the 1st place in an art contest.

I moved to United States when I was 15 years old. I graduated from Fairfax High School in 1979. Later, I enrolled at FIDEM/ Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, California. 

Although I enjoyed my carrier in the Fashion Design field, I always felt I was missing something in my life, many times I’ve longed to become an artist instead of a Fashion Designer. Motivated by my passion to express my ideas and creativity from my mind, heart and soul, I decided to continue my education in Fine Arts and attended Los Cerritos and East Los Angeles College, where I took classes in sculpture, life drawing, oil painting and acrylics.

After years of working in several areas in Fine Arts, I discovered my niche as an artist and enrolled in a Private Art School, where I learned Embossing (Repujado), the art of pushing a relief into a 3 dimensional form by hand, utilizing different types of metals, such as aluminum, tin-pewter and cooper. It was a fascinating journey, I also found out that Embossing is a very ancient craft that dates back to the 12 Century, maybe older and that the Romans used it to decorate their interior walls and exuberant dishes.

At the present moment I’m working in various Embossing and sculpture projects as well as exploring different techniques.
